What are the details of the wedding?
The ceremony and the reception will take place indoors at "Room 1520" in the West Loop neighborhood of Chicago. The address is 1520 W Fulton.
Plan to arrive 15 minutes early so you are settled in your seat before the ceremony begins at 4:30. The West Loop is a busy part of town, so please allow extra time for bad traffic. It can take 30-40 minutes to get there if you are in River North or Lincoln Park. The reception will end at 10:30 p.m.
Is there a bus to the wedding?
Yes. We will provide a trolley to the reception. The trolley will pick up guests at the Royal Sonesta at 71 W Wacker Drive, about 3:30 p.m., and also at another hotel TBD. Details of the timing and location for the bus will be sent out by text before the wedding and added to this website soon. Depending on traffic, it will take about 30 minutes to get to the venue from River North and 7 minutes from the West Loop location. Cabs & Ubers are also available. We are asking guests to arrive at the wedding venue by 4:15.
Are there any wedding events on the night of Friday, October 3?
The Welcome Party is an optional event for our guests to meet and mingle for cocktails, appetizers, and desserts from 8:00-10:00 p.m. It will be located at The Hoxton Hotel, in "The Apartment," 200 N Green St. in the West Loop neighborhood. We recommend guests make dinner reservations at a nearby West Loop restaurant.
Is there a brunch on Sunday, after the wedding?
No official brunch is planned for Sunday, but if anyone would like to meet up with Ed & Maggie for breakfast, we have reserved a few tables for 10 a.m. at Hoyt's Chicago in the Royal Sonesta Downtown Hotel at 71 E Wacker Drive. it's optional, but we would love to meet up with some of our guests for breakfast.
Why aren't you registered for gifts?
Your presence at our wedding means a lot to us and is the best gift of all. We honestly don't need or want any gifts at this time in our life.
But I really want to give you a gift! What can I give you?
If you feel compelled to give something, you could give a donation to Impact Grants Chicago (Maggie's favorite nonprofit) OR your favorite nonprofit and let us know. Let our love pay it forward to others in need.
What is the wedding attire?
The wedding will be a semi-formal event: suits for men and cocktail dresses for women.
The Friday night Welcome Reception's attire is dressy casual.
Can I bring my children to the wedding?
We love your little ones, but we have limited space and kindly ask that only invited children (Ed’s older nieces and nephews) attend the wedding. We’re keeping things simple (and quiet!) for the ceremony and celebration.
When should I book flights and hotels?
Please book flights and hotels ASAP. The longer you wait, the more expensive it will be. Fall is the busiest time of year for Chicago tourism and weddings. You can fly into either O'Hare or Midway airports. Midway is about 10 minutes closer to downtown than O'Hare.
Do you have a discounted block of rooms reserved?
Yes, for some of the hotels. Just book early to get the best pricing and before the room blocks expire. See the list of hotels on this website, but also check travel websites for the best rates. The most convenient hotels will be in the West Loop, but we have also included some recommendations in the Michigan Ave/River North neighborhood.
Should I book restaurant reservations for Friday night and activities now?
Book your dinner reservation for Friday night and other nights ASAP. Check Resy and OpenTable for availability. Activiites should also be booked a few weeks in advance.
